The perils of publishing

I’m working on a gardening project at the moment, so I popped down to the newsagents to get stocked up on the latest issues of the garden mags.

It seems that Country Living (as a monthly title) is struggling to keep up with recent meteorological events:

Whereas the weekly Amateur Gardening is dealing with up-to-the-minute issues:

Amateur Gardening also had the best punny headlines – ‘monswoon’, ‘wet and wild’, ‘torrents of abuse’ and (my personal favourite) ‘why I’m pond-ering for a change’ :-)

  1. A good pun always makes me read an article. I have never considered watery puns to be an aqua-ired taste, like drops of joy I can’t get tide of them.
