some things just shouldn’t be outsourced (much less crowdsourced)
I got an approach from a PR this week, asking if I’d like to blog about their client, an agency called dw+h in Santa Monica. The agency are *drumroll* having a rebrand (let’s face it, agencies rebrand more frequently than most of us repaint our kitchens). The presszzzzz release is here.
You see what with dw+h being a creative agency and all, they thought the best way to come up with a new name for themselves would be to crowdsource it. Because that worked out SO well for Moleskine.
Because of course a really, really creative way to sell your creative-thinking-brave-new-world agency product to potential clients is to…hire another agency to run a crowd sourcing competition for you. And then hire a social media agency to tell everyone about it.
To top it all, if you want to find out more about this crowdsourcing competition, you have to sign in to the crowsourcing expert agency’s website. Oh, and as far as I can tell from their facebook page, dw+h are accepting name submissions from their own creatives too.
