What I feel when I listen

Over last weekend two blogs arrived at roughly the same thought via a different journey.

Noisy Decent Graphics posted about when he sees when he listens to particular albums – a mental snapshot of where he was travelling to when he first heard them.  Meanwhile Beeker had a similar thought (which seems to have got lost to the html gremlins for now) around hereditary radio listening and her new found love for most of Radio 4’s output.

I feel the same way – listening to Test Match Special is like being wrapped up in a big nostalgic duvet and there’s something weirdly soothing about the shipping forecast.  On the music front, Kylie’s Fever will forever be the M1 Southbound, en route to my friend Johanna’s house.

However like any nostalgia trip, they’re all best taken in occasional doses.
